There are three main sealing forms for pharmaceutical plastic bottles:
Firstly, the external thread of the bottle mouth and the internal thread of the bottle cap are interlocked and locked together, making the operation simple, the sealing stable, and effectively preventing the leakage of substances inside the bottle.
Secondly, adopt a flat pressure seal. During the process of bottle cap pressing, the flat surface of the bottle mouth is in close contact with the sealing gasket inside the bottle cap, thereby achieving a sealing effect.
Thirdly, side wall sealing. When the bottle cap is pressed together, the bottle cap with an inverted conical or elliptical inner stopper will be pressed into the inside of the bottle mouth, and the sealing is achieved by the interference fit between the inner stopper and the inner diameter of the bottle mouth.
The specific sealing method used often depends on the characteristics of the medicine inside the bottle.
For example, plastic bottles for oral solid drugs are mostly sealed using electromagnetic induction with threaded and aluminum foil sealing gaskets. This method not only achieves good sealing effect, but also has the functions of anti-counterfeiting and preventing arbitrary opening.
Plastic bottles for oral liquid drugs have higher requirements for sealing and safety, and side wall sealing is more suitable; Design a cap buckle on the inner wall of the bottle cap, and simply press the sealing plug on the bottle cap into the seal to achieve a tight seal between the bottle mouth and the outer cap.
